Patek Philippe 's Annual Calendar Regulator was launched in 2012 with a white gold case, ref. 5235G-001 . This initial white gold model was discontinued in 2019 and replaced by a rose gold version, ref. 5235/50R-001 , which is still in the current catalog...  

But the WG is my absolute favorite 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

But also not sure myself if I have ever seen it live 🤷🏻‍♂️

The case is similar to ref 3448 But that’s where the similarities end ...

Emmanuel...lets think about how the 5098 P compares to the R version. Similarly..the monochromatic feel is cool, more understated luxury, but the contrast provided by the rose gold version makes the subdials pop. This is a big dial...so I feel the need fo... 

what you say about the contrast of the subdials. But I'm not fond of white hands (they look a bit toy-like to me, whatever the model) and I would really need to see the WG in person to get a good sense of how it compares to the RG. Maybe someday! Best, Em... 

Could they have done a better job with the apertures on the dial as well? And perhaps trimmed it to at least a 38mm diameter? But I feel they deserve points for the regulator styled execution , and of course the movement design. Simply beautiful! I hope t...

White gold/platinum, although beautiful for me does not convey the richness as yellow or rose gold. I’m sure some people appreciate the fact that the lighter metals are less conspicuous.

I just don't fully warm up to the white hands which feel a bit toy-like to me (just my personal feeling, of course). And I would really like to see the WG in person someday. Best, Emmanuel

For me it would be the first watch in the pictures with the slightly darker grey dial and the black sub dials and minute track, it is just the one I find the most visually appealing. Marc

I thought I would prefer the rose gold, but when I saw it in the metal I was disappointed. The case and dial were not harmonious to my eye, and the painted white hands bothered me. The original in white gold is high on my “Want List”.

They feel toy-like to me. I hope to be able to see the WG in person someday. Best, Emmanuel

Far more understated than the current iteration, in my opinion, and hence works better for me. The new one seems uncomfortably “blingy” in the metal. Very much a matter of personal taste in any case. (Terrible pun!)

I was in Sicily summer 2024 staying at San Domenico Palace in Taormina and saw a guy who was completely covered in tattoos swimming in the pool with the RG reference... on a leather strap…. I was so worried about this beautiful microrotor movement …

On the wrist of a client of mine who could easily afford any timepiece, including those sold for millions at auctions.... It certainly speaks volumes that he chose that piece above countless other options. I'd definitely like to examine one in person....

with an unusual complication for PP: the regulator. So it is definitely a very special watch.

The 5235R has long been my favorite annual calendar from Patek. The combo of rose gold and charcoal/black subdials along with the engraved Patek logo is awesome. I was fortunate enough to try one at Wempe in NYC last summer. Pictured here with my son admi...
