Your experience is not uncommon, uncomfortable for
sure, but historically this is type of thing has happened time and time again. The 5960 and 5980 references come to mind. We all were amazed at the folks who were paying list + just to get it. The enameled world time probably represents the most current "got to have it" craze with folks asking and I'm sure some paying list ++ prices.
Remember, you're the one who wanted to buy at the time. Now, there are fewer wanting to buy, making the dealers wanting (and having) to sell.
