Quick Comparison To Octo Finissimo and Alpine Eagle XPS
Quick comparison to what you stated were pros for the VC...
- 41mm is perfect for my wrist - the Alpine Eagle is also 41, and the Octo FInissimo is 40, but wears big
- the Overseas case design feels Iconic - the Alpine Eagle is less iconic, and the Octo FInissimo I feel will be more iconic than even the Vacheron Constantin someday.
- no date wheel dial matching issues - not a problem here with the Alpine Eagle XPS 41 nor the Octo FInissimo as neither have dates.
- beautiful movement - The Alpine Eagle XPS 41 has the nicer movement here. Even the Octo Finissimo movement looks fantastic - although it's not Geneva-Sealed as these other two are.
- gorgeous blue dial and a wow bracelet. Alpine Eagle's pink dial (blue is available with a different movement) is a great looker too, and the bracelet is great as well (although impractical since the raised segments of the bracelet which get scratched first are polished and you'll see the scratch against the polishing faster). The Octo Finissimo bracelet is very good. Even the clasp feels super comfortable.
- quick changing strap system - Here, the VC does do a better job as neither the Alpine Eagle nor the Octo Finissimo have a quick changing strap system.

I like the 3- hander, however the blue dial has a white datewheel and that’s a distraction for me. The silver dial is less of an issue.
Blue is my favorite color, so that’s the draw towards a blue dial.
Larry, i think this dual time is one of the best looking Oversea in the collection and the dial is not too busy (I would argue that the time only time is too boring!!!)
I like the way the day is displayed and i much prefer it as well to all the other choices you mentioned. I dont think you can go wrong.
The more that I look at that dial, I feel the same as you. The pusher at 5pm is a big plus from a design perspective.

In that case, the GP L will likely be redundant. I encourage you to still try on the Ingenieur. But yes, I agree, there is no contest between the IWC and VC movement. Enjoy the hunt! 👍🏻

The GMT and the Minute hand ( can’t remember the name ) that can be set to track an event were both very interesting. They have a lovely line-up, but I wish to go in another direction. You have one of those I believe.
