there are some stunners out there now for not a huge amount of money. the
KTM Superduke, the Yamaha MT-03 with 660cc single engine (one of the most used
and reliable engines ever built), the BMW F800GS. too many to name, all great to
ride and very good in traffic which a sports bike isnt.

if your looking for the perfect starter bike i'd highly recommend the CBR600
Honda make bikes that are supremely easy to ride from novice to expert and the CBR600 has to be the best of the bunch. its fast, handles beautifully, looks good, sounds good and isnt overly expensive. no point spending a lot on the first bike just in case...
