Hi Filip and Graham, Graham might be completely right what concerns THE CBR .... BUT .... you should buy THE bike you like most .... which is THE one you like to ride THE most .... .
Therefore you should absolutely try Some Ducatis, especially THE 848 and even THE Hypermotard.

if your looking for the perfect starter bike i'd highly recommend the CBR600
Honda make bikes that are supremely easy to ride from novice to expert and the CBR600 has to be the best of the bunch. its fast, handles beautifully, looks good, sounds good and isnt overly expensive. no point spending a lot on the first bike just in case...
