Dear watch friends, mid of October I'm going to reach - hopefully just - the first half of my life. And I'm looking forward to make a nice present to myself. A watch. What else? Since I'm a heavy user of all my watches I don't buy just for the vault. Neit...  

I absolutely love the Rolex DD on the first picture. And i would add a black or dark blue other watch with it, for contrast. If i were you, i would add the Rolex Submariner no-date with the black dial.

That means you wouldn\'t sell the DD 36? I don\'t want to add another watch with a black dial to my collection. So the Sub no-date is a marvelous watch but this time not an option for me. Therefore I ended up with the Sub Blue TT. My first concern was tha... 

That would be my choice since it appears you already have a collection of watches with white and black dials.

But I would upgrade to the Day-Date 40. Why? Because its the sharpest DD out there and it has got the perfect (mens) size. And I\'d choose the olive green dial. It looks fresh. I might even put that dial in my Day-Date some day! Have fun deciding! ...

If you can swing it, trade the silver dd36 for a dd40. You can do the awesome quadrant silver dial with Roman's. Now, get the TT blue sub and you have the lovely blue dial. That makes a great 2 watches.

because the 40 mm is fashion, while the 36mm gives me that unique feeling, tradition and history of the iconographic rolex brand

you can without selling anything you have. I think that is most critical as it prevents huge losses from the watch merry go round so many of us get caught on. A big collection makes you much more discerning and discriminating in adding a piece. Just my tw...

I think the best option would be to either save up for or trade for the DD 40 WG with olive green dial. It just does something to my senses that would make me trade (I never trade :o) and that dial looks amazing in person. Again see the piece in person as...

From the specs they are both similar but the reason I went with the Cartier (apart from the love) is that it incorporated a lot of elements that is well known for Cartier lovers, the Roman numeral (looks amazing in lume) , blue cabochon stone and the firs...

I have come to this (very personal) ranking so far: 1. DD 40 with Roman numerals: the olive (I just have to see it on my wrist), the blue (fantastic!) or the silver dial (I\'m not sure about the quadrant pattern). BUT will I be able to give up my old love...

I think you made the right choice I would have no doubt and go for the green one, newer, fresh, without any kind of fear, and since your AD was so kind to provide you with one just wait and see how it feels on your wrist The other options seem too common,... 

My AD will receive the olive green one in about 4-6 weeks. Then I - hopefully - will be able to make my decision. I think the "big" decision was the "watch decision". A dial can be changed easily at a later time. Of course I will keep you posted - hoping ... 

Birthday celebrated. Rolex still missing. There went something wrong with the ordering process. And a non-English weekday display seems to be a very uncommon choice. So I have to wait some further weeks. Sigh... I will keep you informed! Best, Thomas
