Tim Tams have a natural synergy with coffee.
Good to hear of the excellent customer support from the AD, err the distributor. And nice to see you doing your own work. I suspect that like car engines and their inherent complexity, gone are the days that espresso machines were glorified kettles! Less and less I do any major work on mine. I had the thermosiphon restrictor installed professionally recently.
The siphon coffee is really different from an espresso. It is finding a place for me after a large meal when you want to sit with something complex and interesting, but not as 'heavy' as an espresso. It's like a good Pinot noir. Something to savor and contemplate.

George, for me I think grind, tamp and pull is a form of therapy.
For others, it's a time suck. Both are valid positions. If the Nespresso delivers what you like, it may not be right to be rid of it. For me, though, the satisfaction of a great pull is worth the effort. Best, CaliforniaJed

I think you're asking about a "super automatic", Imran.
A superauto will grind, tamp and pull the shot for you. If you've been to Starbucks, that's the kind of machine typically in use. Yes, you can use fresh beans, but you will not have much if any control over the variables of grind, tamp, temperature, press...
