7 years that I got this early Military ( sorry for the redundance ) Milspec!
A Lucky find. A good friend of mine was travelling in the US, and one of his friends offered him to buy this Watch.
My friend called me in the middle of the night, which is not a problem for the Vlad in me, and told me that.
I asked him to send me a picture of the Watch, to check some détails, such as the hacking seconds, and the case back, and when all the lights were green, I told him " GO "...
Here is the Watch as I received it...
Then I sent it to a watchmaker for a service, which turned into a catastroph, as the hands when he removed them, broke...
He put some ugly hands, as a temporary solution:
And then it took me one good year to find a good and nice set of hands, which are for a TR 900, but would I complain? Thanks to another good friend of mine, who gifted ( !!! ) them to me.
Since this moment, no more catastrophs, just pleasure, love and passion.
Here it is, with fresh pictures, to celebrate this happy event:
I took my time to find the right strap for it... And to say all, I think that this creamy Cordura Nato is the best.
Even if a Tropic ( in 20 mm ) is also an excellent choice.
It is not my first Fifty Fathoms, as i started some 9 years ago with a No Rad Bund, and went for a Civilian Milspec... Two watches I don't have in the collection anymore, two watches I regret.
But this early Milspec is one of my dearest and most important piece, in my Fifty Fathoms collection.
What about your story with the Fifty Fathoms?
Best,
Nicolas
