Why such a joy from my side?
Because I always thought that the 38 mm case was the perfect size for this watch. Add to that a moderate height with only 10 mm, and you have superb proportions. With a water resistance of 100 meters, you will be able to swim with it.
That's for the case.
Now the dial is another reason to be happy. Till now, we had salmon, blue, red, black, copper has rarely been used in watches. And I find it enhances the vintage character of this watch in a superb way.
Ok, there is a date, but the vintage also had a date, and here, it has the good taste to match with the color of the dial.
As you can see, the hands and indices are filled with super luminova, which has a white glow in the dark. Good and consistent for a sports watch.
Well done, Girard Perregaux. Last good news, from what I understood, it is not a limited edition.
The bad news, the price, which is a bit " salty " : 15 000 Euros. And, as always, the too small movement. With its 25, 95 mm diameter, it is so small that it would deserve a solid case back, even it is nicely decorated.
At least, it offers a decent autonomy of 46 hours.
This could well be MY Laureato!

Newsflash! New Girard Perregaux Esmeralda à Secret, Eternity Edition. Some thoughts.

If you regularly follow our Girard Perregaux Forum, you know that in 2016, the Blue House introduced in the catalog the Esmeralda, but in a wrist watch, not like the ancestor which was one of the most delicious pocket watch ever made. Then, in 2018 we had a second edition, which was called " A secret " with a decorated case and a hinged case back. In 2019 we had a less sophisticated ( cleaner? ) version, in white gold.
