Watches and Wonders 2022: A review on the Atmos Infinite.

The Atmos Infinite pays homage to a certain Atmos, born in 1928, this one:
With its cylindrical glass cabinet, even if the Infinite looks larger. The dimensions of the Atmos Infinite are 215 mm ( diameter ) and 253 ( height ).
An homage, yes, as it is very Art Deco, but in a modern way.
With the Infinite, you immediately focus on its minimalist character. You have the Essential, here, with the hours and the minutes displayed by these long, slim and very elegant hands and the sublime black lacquered dial, contrasting with the applied baton indexes. Another detail I like a lot is the round minute dots you can notice on the outer ring which recall those on the circular balance.
In the middle of the dial, the Cal 570 complements this work of Art. This is the heart of the clock, providing an eternal and autonomous life.
The concept of the Atmos can be simply explained: You first have a capsule loaded with gas, then a membrane and finally, a spring: With a variation of only one degree of temperature, the Atmos gains an autonomy of 2 days. No need to wind it like a normal clock!
Indeed, the variation of temperature has an impact on the volume of the gas in the capsule, which therefore plays on the membrane which then winds the spring.
The Infinite is a brilliant demonstration that Simple and Minimalist can be beautiful.
Here, the whole clock plays with light, transparency. No doubt that this last opus will be a new Classic and an Icon.
Truth to be told, I prefer it to the other Atmos unveiled this year, the Atmos Hybris Mechanica Cal 590.
And it has the good taste to not be limited!

I love this one. It's definitely one of my favorite Atmos clocks. You're absolutely right. It has a price. It's making me hesitant. Maybe it'll take a bit longer before I get one. Fortunately, it's not a limited edition.

Actually the price is really bad... I just found out the price and the cost is 50% more than the Atmos Transparente, which is so similar!
