A. Lange & Söhne

I faced the same issue Mark

I've never considered selling my timepieces until recently when I upgraded my collection and concluded that I needed to dispose of my more modest complications. It kills me to part with my rose gold datograph, which has been kept in an immaculate condition and truth be told very rarely worn, but I had to choose one or two pieces to let go. The shock I got when I had it valued!!! It really was pathetic considering the iconic status of the datograph and the quality of finish compared to very very average timepieces trading at the same price from other brands..... as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I had my entire Lange and Patek collections professionally valued for academic purposes and found a huge disparity between primary and secondary market prices with Lange, some values were just insulting!!

I've never bought watches for investment purposes, but this has made me think twice about how far to go with Lange. It makes no sense that a brand that only produces 5,000ish watches per year and such beautiful timepieces, should devalue in this way! I decided to keep my datograph, it just isn't worth selling.
