1) welcome to the forum, and it may have taken you 1 year to start posting, but its never too late.
2) I am unsure if you have been visiting other forums here, including the general horology forum HoMe. a question like this, if you are NOT just restricting to Patek chronos, could be raised there, and solicit a wider audience and view points.
remember many of us own chronographs, myself included. for me, i have always maintained that a perpeual calender is the most useful function, whilst a chronograph is the most interactive. thats why i love chronos. strictly from the point of view of horology and collecting, there is no other complications that span a wider price range then the humble chrono...from "cheap" Valjoux 7750 to Patek 5170, from old Lemanias to Lange Datograph, from Venus to El Primerio....it enables a vast majority of watch lovers the chance to own a complication. not minute repeaters, not perpetual calenders, even annual calenders.
btw, I started my love for Pateks in the form of the 5035, then 5056p and beyond, always a fan of the Patek annual calenders.
best,
Horo
