i agree with you to a certain degree
that chronos are probably not useful for day to day use , i used to use my daytona and my 5070 for timing how long to cook a steak on the bbq , ive heard of guys here using them for cooking eggs, timing drives to work and back, timing scuba diving etc. For me i think the main reason for loving chronos is two parts, one i appreciate how a chrono movement looks particularly if you have a clear back to the watch and secondly the dial can be intriguing with chronos , take for example the 5980 or 5960 with the mono counter or a datograph as examples of the art.
