It is not a crazy idea, it would be great in fact but I just wondered in previous answers I made if it was possible. You should write a letter to Patek, suggestions are always good to hear, who knows, they may follow you!
Funny that lugs are quite not the detail we see first, but many purists indeed like them a lot (so do I).
I had the same thoughts about guilloche tools. We never know what has to be done to be able to have the output needed by major brands demand. I was glad to read about this as well.
It has only been 3 days since they were released, our impressions will continue to evolve and we'll have plenty of time to sharpen our opinions 
I see, we are both enjoying it very much and it seems, on pics, that it will be a great hit (at least my favorite).

You are correct
about the size of the pusher, my post was out of sequence and I was actually passing comment on the new 5230 having a larger button to advance the time zone - 5131R is unchanged.
Overall I like it a lot.
In particular the guilloche dial is beautifully done and I love the lugs. I am not yet convinced by the case - it does seem very angular from the photos, maybe it will feel less so in the metal.

I share your feelings about the proportions of the city ring and the dial.
And that is one of the attractions of the 5930 for me (apart from the addition of the chrono). The dial looks to be a better size.
