Luggage is really a partner in travel.

I was fortunate. I didn't pay quite those prices for luggage - as I bought them before the prices had gotten quite that high. I'm generally ahead of the curve on buying things.
Luggage is really a tool. Kind of like a tool watch. So it really needs to be VERY SERIOUSLY considered. Kind of like how an airplane pilot needs to know how the mechanics of the plane work. Some people have even greater demands on their luggage than I do! For instance those with arthritis or other specific concerns.
Kind of like how a Patek Philippe Nautilus and a Patek Philippe Aquanaut would compare and contrast as a diving watch... Both have 120M water resistance; but is one better than the other? While very few people use this watch as a diving watch, one is clearly the better one over the other. The Aquanaut. The bezel of the Nautilus is holding an exposed rubber gasket. Rubber gaskets age. Thus, there are more components subject to external risks on the Nautilus than the Aquanaut. But if it were me, I wouldn't wear any mechanical watch while diving.
Back to the luggage. It really takes a special and thorough look in order to be certain that no surprises arise. Most people superficially test drive a piece of luggage and most people aren't that sensitive nor perceptive so they aren't aware that a different choice may yield a different result. Hopefully this article will introduce concepts they hadn't thought of previously.
