Oh! Wow! I didn't know you were a multi-million-mile-flyer!
Those Pelican cases are robust but not very ergonomically comfortable!
I've also had that fetish for the Zero Halliburtons. I have an attache case from them somewhere.
Yes. Must have clamshell and metal frame closure - the zipper loses so much rigidity sometimes and a lot of the energy is lost in the flex. This isn't immediately noticeable but it's noticeable after half a kilometer on cobbled streets.
You'd like the FPM. It's heavier than your Classic Flight. But the rigidity is amazing. It's much more rigid than my RIMOWA. The only problem with the FPM is that the telescoping handle isn't quite as meaty as the RIMOWA. So imagine an even more rigid Porsche Cayman GT4 but with a thin rimmed steering wheel! And the flatness of the top of the FPM makes putting bags on the handle bar an even better place as it sits more securely on the nearly flat surface. The Rimowa handle bar sticks out too much.
Take a look next time you get a chance. I'm less than amused that LVMH takes all of my money too! Oh... And wait until you see LVMH hotels... Cheval Blanc hotels... That gets really painful.
