Wow, wow and wow. what a masterpiece writeup.
As someone who appreciate quality, craftmanship and good useful products I love reading all things related, and such a comparission is always a necessity. And what a complete thoughtful comparison it is, I just enjoyed reading it. Thank you!
As for the product itself. and as a previous user of many brands mentioned (B&R, Tumi, Hartman etc) I have some takes, mainly from experience.
1. Whenever a giant like LVMH acquires a great company, there are 3 main factors that influence my attraction to these brands:
-Dramatic increase in pricing
-Noticeable reduction of VFM and quality. an example is Samsonite acquisition of Tumi. A lifetime (or 25 years) of warranty reduced to 5 and highly conditional...
-The product usually becomes "IT" item for the masses. I prefer under the radar but superb quality (Tom Bihn is one, Goyard of up to 5 years ago is one, etc) .
As for the practicality of buying a Remowa few 2c I use:
With all the new airlines restrictions, I tend to prefer lighter carry on. 2-3Kg. 5 is massive!
For checked luggage, I'll go mass market (Samsonite etc) as the expensive luggage is prone for theft not for the content, but for the package.
Thanks again for a great read and happy holidays.
