TimeOut

Patrick, very very nice write up. Appreciate it.

I did read this when you posted it but am only now getting around to replying.

I’ve had a Cabin for maybe 8 or 9 years.  I think it’s the smaller one as at the time I wanted to be sure that wouldn’t have any issues on Euro airlines / Euro area flights and if I recall correctly their size restrictions were tighter than the US.

We also have three full size (Large) check-ins which we have had for maybe 10 or 11 years and have a lot of mileage on them.

My Cabin, I do love.  However I wish I’d had more space.  I do always carry a Porter/Yoshida ballistic nylon backpack too and so that solves my issue of no external pockets on the Cabin.

For the L Check-Ins they have had some bruises along the way and have had some trips back to the spa to get fixed (dents preventing proper closure, broken locks).  I do feel that baggage carriers purposely abuse these bags, and it probably doesn’t help that once packed they are always close to 24-25KGs and so that factor increases the potential damage when mishandled.

Interestingly I’ve been looking at the Trunk recently, wondering if we may add one. No decision on this yet.

Here’s a pick of my Cabin (in the background) from a recent trip.  And to Fastwong’s point above, taking the Tube from LHR to the city and walking to my hotel one does really appreciate the rigidity of the Cabin.
