Chopard was one of the brands that had a Mega-booth at Dubai Watch Week. In addition to hosting big VIPs at their booth - many whom had very exquisite complicated Chopard timepieces and some with jeweled timepieces - Chopard also reached deep into their history of high horology and showcased some of the timepieces they were most proud of.
For 2023, Chopard launched the Full Strike Blue Sapphire. What a watch. The GONGS are made of Sapphire and are actually attached to the crystal. Thus, when the hammers strike the sapphire gongs, they're literally striking the crystal itself! For some minute repeater fans, this is the best sounding minute repeater on the market!
Chopard really did an amazing job in 2021 with their Full Strike Tourbillon.
One of my favorite pieces from Chopard.
A big but super elegant watch with a fantastic Geneva Seal movement that was also an extremely large pocket-watch style movement.
This watch could be removed from the strap and be converted into a pocket watch. But what interested me more was the incredible pocket watch movement!
This watch looks like an automobile engine!
The original 1860 was a tour de force in design and in movement quality. Endowed with the Geneva Seal, it was a super-high quality timepiece that offered a subtle hint at the wearer's sophistication. A perfect timepiece. And the timepiece that really put Chopard on the haute horlogerie map! Bravo.
A lot of our members are big fans of the Alpine Eagle timepieces - myself included!
This is the current 1860 - it has a long wait list of around two years!
A timeline is also printed above the display cases. Showing every major timepiece and the year it was presented. 1997 was a good year for all the major wine regions and a great year for Chopard!
Did you see any of your favorite timepieces from Chopard? If so, which one was it?
