Let us not forget
that no matter how you feel about this particular incident, we can all probably write about an experience of exceptional hospitality from Lange. This is hardly a company where rigid rules are a problem in terms of their customer relations. I can't think of a watch company I would rather deal with, even if 10 more guys pop up complaining about their black straps.
This does not measure up to embarrassing posts with zero horological value, letters to the CEO, selling watches, or questioning this brand's level of customer service. Watches are about more than "what have you done for me lately" in regard to a strap. The good news is that if this customer gets really mad and decides to sell his Dato, I think there will be plenty of interested buyers. And he can always buy one back after the next time Lange offers to pay for his dinner, unless of course the steak was overdone.
