Horological Meandering

Couple of points

Hi AFSG,

I think there are problems with dragging a brand through the mud on this forum, even if it is well deserved.  First, it's not possible for the reader of the posts to verify the truthfulness of the complaints, which are coming mostly from anonymous posters not using their real names.  Second, some brands monitor the forums but it would be easy for them to miss these public complaints; it's not exactly fair when we hear only one side of the story.  Another issue is that airing (potentially unwarranted) complaints will not make things easier for the Purists, who would need to patrol the complaints and subsequent discussions to make sure they're fairly conducted.  And lastly, to your point about assumptions:

"Assuming what happened to you was indeed as you state, there can be, IMHO, no harm in sharing these stories."

The assumption is the deal killer here.  We don't know if it's true or not, nor are we sure we're getting the whole story.  A lot of harm can come from sharing these stories, which is why I much prefer MKVC's approach.  It's fair.

Best regards,

Jeff
