The watch is fine, I assume Patek Philippe looked at Cartier and realized they’re printing money off the Santos so they also wanted a men’s square watch. Fine. Mission accomplished. But then release it within a visual context, not just a bunch of frontal shots or a few wrist turns.

Expectations, the hype was too high.
I was expecting a whole new line and maybe a shaped movement. If they said it would be a Nautilus 2.0 or maybe nautilus2 (squared). Then the watch is totally fine. The only criticism would be maybe a little too big for some (including my wrist). Francis
If this was released at palexpo with the other 2024 models I think they'd have been well received.
I was also expecting a shaped movement, quick change straps/bracelet, and one of their silicon projects to show up.

I am surprised at all of this. T. Stern has a tantrum and decides he doesn't want to be a "one-watch" brand, so he ends his bread and butter Nautilus and Aquanaut models. This did not do anything, except to discourage Patek customers and future customers....
Thank you for the balanced analysis. I have to say, I was disappointed by the new collection. Not that I dislike it, I actually think people will get used to the design and it will be appreciated undoubtedly.
