What's wrong with the 6000G?
The 6000G is a Calatrava (Calatrava to me basically denotes a round faced/cased Patek Philippe, including the complicated round watches when using the word loosely).
The 6000G is a sporty watch that has a sporty color scheme, a unique look on the dial, and a beautifully finished 240 caliber with the elegant and thin micro-rotor.
For those young'uns looking for a slightly more complicated model, the 5146G with slate dial is another excellent choice as I'm sure many of you will agree. The 5146G with the slate dial has a cool/modern color scheme that will still retain its classic appearance.
And last but not least, the Nautilus and Aquanaut models are sporty models that are perfect for many individuals and many situations.
And very last but not very least. A Patek Philippe isn't for everyone at every time. Patek Philippe doesn't necessarily have to make a watch for every market nor age group.

PP is targeting the market of well-off people with high disposable income. Most of the people meeting this criteria are above 40 of age. No doubt that there are more filthy rich young men now, thank you to internet. However, the market is still too small....
My advice is to start with a 240 caliber.
A micro-rotor caliber is always special and when it is reliable and beautiful like the 240, I think it is the best way to enter Patek's world. Fr.Xavier

but it has been discontinued. It was a 5085. It was very casual, complicated and for most of its life it was less than 20k. Its a steel in the secondary market in my opinion. I was dumb enough to sell mine for less than 12k
