Hmm, Dje, you've got me thinking here.
What do you think you would propose to Patek Philippe if they wanted to make a watch for younger people?
First of all, let's explore the facts. What brands do young people buy today? How do we define young people (under 30 years, under 25, under 20)? What brand do you think young people gravitate to?
Panerai is definitely a watch that is appropriate for young people. But what is the average age of a Panerai purchaser?
Rolex and Omega is also appropriate for young people. But at the same time, some of its wearers are extremely old. This perhaps indicates that young people may like the same things as older people.
Tag Heuer is another brand that is extremely popular among young people.
What would Patek Philippe make for young people? An even more modified Aquanaut? Would the movement finish be of the top quality or of a mid quality? Would the movement even be mechanical? Perhaps Quartz movement? Would the case be made of steel? I think young people prefer bracelet watches, would there be a bracelet? And what about the price? A Patek Philippe today starts at about 15,000 Euros for an Aquanaut on a rubber strap. Would the price be under 10,000 Euros?
Personally, I don't see Patek Philippe making a watch to target young people. But, there are a few young people on this forum who can appreciate watches for the more mature and more experienced watch collectors. And these young individuals are perfectly content with acquiring watches of extremely classic designs. And I think this is very special that young people can appreciate movement finishing and fine watchmaking to such a degree. Perh
Perhaps Patek Philippe already makes a young person's watch, but only for women. The Patek Philippe 24, which is made in large quantities is popular among women of all ages.

PP is targeting the market of well-off people with high disposable income. Most of the people meeting this criteria are above 40 of age. No doubt that there are more filthy rich young men now, thank you to internet. However, the market is still too small....
My advice is to start with a 240 caliber.
A micro-rotor caliber is always special and when it is reliable and beautiful like the 240, I think it is the best way to enter Patek's world. Fr.Xavier

but it has been discontinued. It was a 5085. It was very casual, complicated and for most of its life it was less than 20k. Its a steel in the secondary market in my opinion. I was dumb enough to sell mine for less than 12k
