Noone is going to stop him from buying the watch. But the OP's post was a question, how we see the quite large watch in relation to his own wrist, as shown in the pic.
Poky also said something very wise about diameter and lugs. I think, in my very personal subjective view, that there is a certain harmony when the watch/wrist "relation" is something like 3:4. Ellipse d'Or's proportions were also modelled on that concept.

Size is no different to shape, material or any other watch property. It's a personal matter of taste. Buying watches is such a personal (even egoistic) pleasure for me. If I like it, can afford it and can get the Mrs to approve it, that's all that matters...

Size is a very subjective issue. I wear watches from 36mm to 45mm. The most important question is: Does the watch make me smile?

What Baron says is spot on. Your wrist can and should carry any watch (regardless of size) that makes you happy. If it is your dream watch, that is all that matters.

I also think that your tailored cuff makes it appear larger.
It accentuates the size of the watch. A looser cuff might help and draw less attention to the wrist size.
