that you say it is one of your dream watches so I am wondering what the other dreams watches are and is size important to you. For me if you love a watch, buy it and do not care too much what others may think. I have a larger wrist than you (6.25 inches) but for me and I have tried the 5712, the watch is a little large for me. It looks a tad large for you too in my eyes but again as I say, we all have different criteria when choosing a watch. I think 40mm based on the above photo is probably the largest size that a 5.75 inch wrist will fit. It is my favourite Nautilus by far in the current collection with the 240 movement looking a lot better than the 324 movement. But the only Nautilus that I really did like, and I am still kicking myself daily for not buying me when it was available, was the 5800 produced only for 3 years (2006-2009) and sporting the rare 330SC movement with a diameter of 38mm. sigh.....

Do not pay attention to anyone at all. If it's your dream watch, it is you and only you that matters. Go for it. If it makes you happy, go for it. There are guys on this forum who are obsessed by watch size. The only thing that matters is whether you like...

Size is no different to shape, material or any other watch property. It's a personal matter of taste. Buying watches is such a personal (even egoistic) pleasure for me. If I like it, can afford it and can get the Mrs to approve it, that's all that matters...

Size is a very subjective issue. I wear watches from 36mm to 45mm. The most important question is: Does the watch make me smile?

What Baron says is spot on. Your wrist can and should carry any watch (regardless of size) that makes you happy. If it is your dream watch, that is all that matters.

If you think it feels right it is. Works well on your wrist in my opinion! And typically pictures make it look bigger than it looks in real life because of the angle.

I also think that your tailored cuff makes it appear larger.
It accentuates the size of the watch. A looser cuff might help and draw less attention to the wrist size.
