I see this quite often, even elsewhere
Some references that watch fans share on forums come more frequently than others. What you emphasize is exactly the purpose of my post. Not that it is bad, as people should of course get what they prefer and also that those models have something beautiful that justifies their success as well. I wish to see them as often than before but I also wish to underline the fact that there is a little side effect we tend to forget as time goes by and this can help us discover other references, be more curious about things less visible on forums and welcome in a more open way the novelties which differ from the past.
Then, everyone will make the journey and take decisions, I think, in a more knowledgebale way.
The 5230 is new and we should wait also for people to acquire them, share them, show them during GTGs with friends and this will bring them toward the front imho. I love the 5230G too (as the new 5930G).
It also depends on current tastes and standards. For instance, shaped cases (like the Gondolo line-up for instance) are not what we see most but in the 1950's-1960's square watches were much more trendy.
I guess it evolves even if classics may remain appreciated.
There can only be positive from looking at something else before choosing, even if we come back to beautiful classics.
Thank you Dom
Best, Mark
