Completely agree on the VC 82172 v 1921 (which I had not thought of), though a wide price gap, the latter, as you quite rightly said, makes up for it in its unique and much larger case design.
I keep forgetting about the movement of the new Ingenieur being the same as the XX which is certainly interesting (interesting as well with a number of Omega models using similar movements in their watches with varying price differences). Of course if I feel (and can be convinced) that the case and bracelet justifies this disparity and I like the watch, then I will gladly spend the additional money. What will be interesting is to see is whether there will be future medium-longterm appreciation, and if so, this would be an added bonus to put me at ease (not that this is any reason why I collect of course).
