IWC

I actually agree with you...

From the movement perspective, I have to agree, Rolex actually does a pretty darn good job.
The IWC 32111 and 32110 movements are basically movements that were designed by Val Fleurier for IWC (probably partially manufactured for IWC by Val Fleurier or another group for IWC). They're simple and fairly reliable movements. The architecture is somewhat similar to what you'd see in a Sellita or an ETA. The movement by Val Fleurier is technically considered as an IWC manufacture movement since the version manufactured for IWC has some special silicon components that make it unique.
So yes, the movement is not extremely special. And derivatives of the same movement are in other products in other brands. As you already stated.
The Submariner case and bracelet however are probably more derivative than the custom-made IWC INGENIEUR case and bracelet. This IWC case definitely has a lot more operations for manufacture. However, just because something is more difficult to make doesn't necessarily mean it's more beautiful. So I'll leave that up to you - beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
