And Thank you for the humor! While I personally agree with you about the 6K vs 11K, I can tell you that the market and watch brands/executives don't agree with us. As I mentioned to the previous poster, there are two ways to look at it. We're probably looking at it from the top to down perspective (the other perspective is bottom looking up). Where we think $6K vs $11K isn't too big of a delta. But we also need to have empathy for someone with a different perspective; such as a bottom looking up perspective, that $5K delta is a pretty big delta. Overall, the watch companies think of equivalent competitors and their price brackets. They do some analysis mainly with how they want to position their products with pricing and how they want the public to perceive their brand's positioning. So that's where the brands come from. So IWC probably benchmarked Rolex, said to themselves, this watch is much more special than a Rolex, so we should charge a little more. While forgetting their Mark XX has a similar movement and is priced much less. I don't know. The speculation rabbit hole is deep - looking at this too logically just doesn't work!
